JAAF Supports QC Women Sewers
The newly-formed Quezon City Women Sewers’ Cooperative received its first order of PPEs today from J. Amado Araneta Foundation. The same sewers from Barangays Greater Lagro and Sto. Cristo did PPEs for JAAF last year, which were turned over to the Quezon City LGU for use of their health workers. Now, they have organized themselves into a cooperative.
During the commitment signing last 4 March at the Quezon City Hall Compound were (seated, left to right) Rayda Tumaliuan, Cooperative Chairman, Ms. Elma Viray, Head of DTI-NCR for Area 3, Ms. Diane Romero, Executive Director of JAAF, and Ms. Mona Yap, OIC of the QC Business Office. Joining them at the back, standing, were the Officers and key members of the QC Women Sewers’ Cooperative.
Bayang Hinabi is a joint project of JAAF, DTI National Capital Regional Office, SPARK Philippines, and the QC Small Business and Cooperatives Development Promotions Office, borne of the COVID Pandemic situation. Uplifting the economic situation of displaced workers in the identified barangays is its prime objective.
